10 OF OUR QUALITY MANUAL
INSPECTION
& TESTING
1.
PURPOSE
& SCOPE :
1.1 The purpose of this Section is to ensure that at all the stages of
the product, the required
inspection and testing are identified
and carried out, so that the specified requirements for the
product are met.
1.2 The
System covers A class items, stores items and maintenance
items.
2.
RESPONSIBILITY
:
2.1 Manager (Q.A.)
shall have overall responsibility for activities of this section.
3.
METHOD
:
3.1 INCOMING
PROUDCTS :-
3.1.1 Incoming
products include A class items as per DS-0601, stores items
and
maintenance/spare items . A class items (Bentonite Ore,
Sulphuric Acid, Furnace Oil,
Steam coal and HDPE bags), shall be
verified on receipt by Manager (Q.A.) or his
representative.
Except Bentonite, no other items mentioned above, shall be taken
inside
factory premises without acceptance by (Q.A.) personnel.
Method of
acceptance/clearance under deviation shall be described
in Section No. 13.
3.1.2 Method
of testing of A class items shall be as per DS-1001.The
control parameter shall
be as per quality plan DS-0201 and
DS-0601.
3.1.3 Records
of inspection for Bentonite shall be as per QR-1001; for Sulphuric
Acid as per
QR-1002; for furnace oil as per QR-1003; for steam
coal as per QR-1004 and for HDPE
bags shall be as per QR-1005.
3.1.4 Records
of only those items shall be maintained, which are accepted for
use in factory. No
records shall be maintained for those items
which do not conform to specifications and
being returned from the
factory gate.
3.1.5 Above
clause does not apply to Bentonite, which shall be taken inside
factory as soon as it
arrives. If, however, There are any
non-conformity found later on, it shall be accepted as
material
under deviation.. In case of stores/maintenance items only visual
inspection shall
be done. Only O.K. items shall be received.
Therefore no records shall be kept about these
stores items.
3.2 IN
PROCESS ITEMS :
3.2.1 Method
of testing of products under process shall be as per DS-1002. The
control
parameter shall be as per Quality Plan DS-0201 and
QR-0903, 0904 Part I, II & III,
0907.
3.2.2 Records
of testing shall be maintained in QR-0903 (Mixing); QR-0904
(Digestion);
QR-0904 P-II (Wash Tank); QR-0904 P- III ; (Filter
press) and QR-0907 (Calciner).
3.3 FINAL
PRODUCT :
3.3.1 Final
product testing shall be done for calcined lumps and for finished
product (i.e.
after pulverising). Method of testing of Calcined
lumps and Finished product shall
be as per DS-100.
3.3.2 Records
of inspection of calcined lump shall be kept in QR-100.
3.3.3 Final
product i.e. Activated Bleaching Earth/Fullters Earth, shall be
allowed for final
clearance, only after clearance from Manager (Q.A.)
or his representative. The
control parameter shall be as per
DS-0301 to DS-0306 as the case may be.
3.3.4 Final
product for domestic market, where that product specification is
as
perDS-0301/DS-0302/DS-0303, Shall be inspected as records shall
be kept in QR-100.
3.3.5 Final
product for export market, where that product specification is as
per DS-0305 and
DS-0306. Shall be inspected as records shall be
kept in QR-1008 and QR-1009
respectively.
