PROCESS DESCRIPTION
Non-ferric Alum is manufactured by reaction of Alumina Hydrate
and Sulphuric Acid. These materials are conveyed and fed in
measured quantities into a reaction vessel suitably lined
with special materials. In the reaction vessel steam and water
can also be fed as per the requirements. After the reaction
is completed, the Alum liquor is concentrated to 17-18% Al2O3
and discharged into the tray for solidification.
Alum lumps are taken out from the tray and fed to a crusher
and screen. Kibbled Alum and the undersize materials are stored
in separate hoppers. These are weighed and packed separately
in 50 Kg capacity HDPE bags.
