PROCESS DESCRIPTION
Burnt lime of 90-92% purity is procured and is slaked in
a hydrator to produce 90% and above hydrated lime having moisture
of 1.2-1.3%. This hydrated lime is charged in the Chlorination
Reactor through a set of conveying equipment, where liquid
chlorine is introduced under high vacuum created by vacuum
system. The reactor has agitator for better absorption. After
Chlorination, drying is carried out at 80oC under vacuum.
The product so formed is cooled and Bleaching Powder so formed
is transported through conveying system to packing where it
is sieved, oversize crushed and packed in bags/ drums.
High purity of Burnt Lime, controlled chlorination cycle
with proper temperature control and high vacuum result in
free flowing good quality product having high available chlorine
and longer stored life.
